GET INVOLVED

Oregon Hospitality Foundation needs the industry to help fund and sustain our programs. You can support us by donating money to the Foundation or by making an in-kind donation. As a non-profit, the foundation relies on the financial and in-kind support of those who benefit from our work (the industry), as well as those who recognize the value of providing career and technical education opportunities for our citizens. Support is also needed in the form of industry mentors, speakers, and contributors of in-kind support.

Volunteer as a Judge
Help us judge the competitions at the ProStart Invitational, sponsored by Sysco; date and location to be announced soon. Share a few details about yourself to get started!

Donate to ProStart
ProStart®, the two-year high school culinary arts and management program, provides many opportunities to connect with the future employees and leaders of our industry. Currently, there are more than 35 participating high schools across Oregon, with over 3,000 students participating in the program. Your support of the ProStart® program benefits a regional network of students and instructors, chef mentors and volunteers.

Your donation to ProStart may benefit you through:

  • Industry-wide acknowledgement of your support of ProStart
  • Media exposure at ProStart competitions and events
  • Recognition in printed collateral and marketing materials
  • Enhanced awareness of your business' commitment to education

Become a ProStart Mentor
As a mentor, you will embrace many roles, from teacher to role model. Mentors provide overall support for ProStart® students and help students make a real-world connection to their goals and the future. Support from local hospitality leaders results in educated, motivated and professional hospitality industry employees.

  • Gain fresh perspectives and ideas

ProStart is an excellent career starter for high school students, an exciting teaching opportunity for educators, a chance to share practical knowledge for mentors, and a smart investment in the future of Oregon's hospitality industry.

ProStart students have both FOH and BOH skills:

  • Knife skills, preparation and cooking methods
