Human Trafficking Prevention
Free Industry Training
Human trafficking is widespread, and our hotels have an important role to play in keeping our communities and our lodging businesses and guests safe from this harm. Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA) is partnering with Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) to provide FREE human trafficking training for ORLA members and their staff. This 30-minute course about human trafficking can protect your hotel and even save lives.
To take the free training course, log in to the Member Info Hub to access the enrollment codes for either individual or group training courses.

About BEST's Training
Inhospitable to Human Trafficking Training
BEST offers the most comprehensive human trafficking training available in the U.S. for hospitality employees. BEST’s training is a proven tool that helps victims of human trafficking escape exploitation and helps trained hotels become less hospitable to traffickers. Survey research has shown that before receiving training, only 8% of trainees recognized a trafficking incident within the prior year. After taking BEST’s training, that number jumped to 44% of trainees identifying victims.
Everyone who completes the training course will receive a certificate. This certificate may satisfy state and/or local training requirements. It is your responsibility to verify whether the training meets any such requirements.
“ORLA needs to be a leader in forging stronger working relationships with like-minded organizations focused on anti-trafficking training,” said Jason Brandt, President & CEO for the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association. “Our industry is a part of the solution and needs to be at the table in providing quality training at no cost as a foundational societal responsibility.”
