Take Action
Take Action – Be a Hospitality Advocate!
ORLA is your voice at every level of government—but your story makes that voice stronger. As an operator, your real-world experience can shape the policies that impact our industry.
Get involved: share your story, testify, or join our Government Affairs Committee calls. Your voice matters—let’s make it heard.
How to Advocate for the Industry
Getting involved starts with staying informed. Sign up for text alerts by texting “ORLA” to 52886 or registering online. For questions, contact Greg Astley, ORLA’s Director of Government Affairs, at 971.224.1502.
Here are three key ways to take action:
Level 1: Call or Write Elected Officials
Your voice matters. A personal letter or call can influence decisions—and thanking supportive officials strengthens key relationships. Be sure to copy ORLA on any written communication. [Find Your Legislator]
Level 2: Meet with Officials in Person
Schedule a visit—either in Salem or at your business—to build personal connections and show the real impact of hospitality on your community.
Level 3: Testify Publicly
Testifying before elected bodies sends a powerful message. It shows your commitment and brings critical real-world perspective to key decisions. [How to testify remotely]
