Green Resources
Sustainability isn’t just good for the environment—it’s good business. By reducing waste and redirecting usable goods into the community, Oregon’s hospitality operators can lower disposal costs, support neighbors in need, and strengthen their local impact.
We've curated a few nonprofit partners that make it easy to donate responsibly. This list is not intended to be comprehensive but assist with suggested community-based organizations who offer resources in this space.
Community Warehouse
Community Warehouse is the Portland area’s only furniture bank, helping furnish thousands of homes each year for neighbors in need. If your hotel or business is retiring furniture, mattresses, or other household goods, consider donating them instead of sending them to landfill. Donations are tax-deductible, and pickup is available at no cost. Contact: Jam Shepherd at 971-865-5285.
SnowCap Community Charities
SnowCap is a nonprofit dedicated to providing food assistance and other essential resources to families in need. Hospitality businesses can support their efforts by donating commercially packaged food items—including canned, boxed, fresh, frozen, or dried goods. Donations are tax-deductible and accepted Monday through Friday at their Pine Street entrance.
Oregon Food Bank
Donating safe, high-quality food and supplies to Oregon Food Bank is a meaningful way to support communities across the state. They partner directly with businesses to make the donation process simple and efficient, helping ensure surplus food reaches those who need it most.
By partnering with these organizations, you can extend the life of your goods, reduce waste, and make a tangible difference in your community.
