Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association Partners with Guardian Group to Provide Industry-Specific Training to Hotel Members
[October 12, 2016 - Wilsonville, OR] – Guardian Group and the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA) announced a new partnership in an effort to benefit members in creating a safer environment for their guests and employees.
Guardian Group is a veteran-operated non-profit organization predicated upon bringing the fight to sex trafficking in America and being accountable for those results. Utilizing their elite military background, they will provide ORLA members with hospitality industry-specific training focused on limiting financial, social, and legal risk and liability of hotel involvement with sex trafficking.
While hotels are not causing sexual exploitation, they have unfortunately become the major point-of-transaction for commercial sex trafficking, the fastest growing crime in America. An increasing number of states are passing legislation requiring hotels to provide adequate training of staff and protection to customers. Guardian Group’s training prepares hotel owners, management, and staff to identify, report, and respond to suspected trafficking incidents. With input from hospitality industry professionals, plus local, regional, and national law enforcement agencies, their customized training and proprietary reporting system provide a comprehensive approach for ORLA members that exceeds the requirements set forth by legislation.
After hotels implement and complete the Guardian Group training, they are awarded with the Guardian Seal, a recognizable symbol letting customers and clients know that they have taken a stand against sex trafficking. Through Guardian Group training, ORLA members are creating a safer workplace, gaining protection from financial harm, and helping to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
ORLA is proud to endorse Guardian Group and its world-class, hospitality industry-specific training to our members. Together, ORLA and Guardian Group are working to bring the fight to human trafficking.
